| EnergyWise™ EECA's (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) ENERGYWISE™ home grants programme funds improvements to insulation and other energy efficiency measures for homes throughout the country. Government funding for insulation, 'clean' heating and other energy efficiency measures is now available through various partners across the country. ENERGYWISE™ funding is available as either: an interest subsidy, so homeowners can pay off the cost of energy efficiency improvements over time, and the government will pay the interest, up to a maximum of $1,400.00 (incl. GST); or a grant, of one third of the cost of improvements, up to a maximum of $1,125.00 (incl. GST). It’s available to homeowners earning less than $100,000 a year (1 or 2 earners) or $140,000.00 a year (3 or more earners), with homes built before 1 January 2000.
